On my first snowboarding experience, I almost broke a few bones. Here are the reasons why:
1. I was stubborn and insisted that I could learn on my first time without hiring an instructor. I did my own research but it still it didn’t help.
2. I wore the wrong attire. Can you imagine wearing jeans in the snow?! In my defense, it was a spontaneous trip and I didn’t have time to shop
3. When they took us up the mountain, I wasn’t informed that you have to glide out of the lift because it doesn’t stop. CAN YOU IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN MY FRIENDS GOT OFF THE LIFT?! Well the lift was too far off the ground already and even the guy said it’s too late, you would have to go up the higher slopes of the mountain. In a spur of the moment decision, I jumped off the lift when it was already too high to get off to Call it adrenaline rush or stupidity, I had to get off cause I know for sure I would not survive a higher slope.
Lesson learned: don’t be dumb, learn before you snowboard, and be more prepared
