Left: 2017 Provincials, third call outs
Right: 2019 Crush Cancer, my first overall win
I'll be the first to tell you that my first few years in the sport were not my greatest.
I never placed as high as I knew I had the potential to and there's no one I could blame for it but me.
Each and every show I did would leave me feeling disappointed. Not only because of the placing, but because I knew deep down that I could have worked much harder and been more disciplined.
Going into 2019 I made myself a promise; if bodybuilding was something I truly loved and wanted to excel at, I needed to put 100% of my heart and soul into it. Anything less would be wasting my time.
Winning is definitely a great feeling, and something I will keep striving to do. But the best part about it all wasn't the placing, it's that I can now proudly say that I was finally able to prove to myself that I had it in me.
