How about a non-scale victory!?! ***Balance*** After my 3rd baby my core was so weak! This was despite diligently working out throughout pregnancy! About 4 months postpartum I went to a chiropractor (who is also a nutritionist, and has a whole host of other amazing tricks up her sleeve) She asked if I caught myself holding my breath often? Yes! Did I have lack of balance? Oh yes, absolutely. I could barely do modified side planks! I also had an SI joint that kept bothering me. One thing that was off was my diaphragm. Say what? My diaphram? Yes. With one adjustment in my back, as well as one simple exercise in the office my balance was back, but still weak. Since then, more than a year later my balance has NEVER been this good before. I attribute that to YES, the adjustment, absolutely, but also the workout programs I've been doing ever since. CHANGE UP YOUR CARDIO. My favorite cardio is not on a machine. It looks like this: reverse lunges into platform step-ups. You can do 15 reps on each leg, rest and repeat, and repeat and repeat and... I also raised the height of the platform after each set, and then lowered it down like in a pyramid. There are so many ways to do cardio without a machine. I’ll share more this week! I followed my leg day by my favorite Caribbean breakfast to cool my body down: fruit, green juice and beet & ginger juice.
