Fantastic read from one of our parents..Service dog Beth pulling double duties not only to be there for her girl but helping all the other students who needed her! So proud of my 2 girls today. I brought Beth to Sarah's school this morning to help her while she was getting her HPV vaccines. Sars was brilliant with her BF staying by her side.
I was then asked (by the HSE,) to stay with Beth, to help the other students cope with their nerves / anxieties over the injections.
Beth was working overtime..... she was out of this world..... She stayed with the nervous / upset girls while they waited to be called, then went with them to get their vacine. They rubbed Beth non stop which really helped & calmed them.
Then we followed them over to stay with them to recover from the ordeal.
The doctors / nurses were really delighted with how good & helpful Beth was...they said they would love to take her with them to the other schools they had to visit lol.
1 girl in particular fainted & hyperventilated after her vacine & nothing would help her until I brought Beth over to her. The nurse couldnt believe how fast the girl recovered & said they were just going to ring her Mum before we came over. (She's the girl where Beth is lying across her legs). Thank you so so much to MCC for all your hard work...but if you saw how fast the girls tears dried up, ye would know how much our dogs help, not only our kids, but others as well xx
Ps the girls gave Beth a sticker for being so good lol. Shes also booked for next vacine in 6mths time xx
