Ok, so this does not speak to me, I’m made of anxiety lol. But when I can silence doubt and fear I’m able to catch glimpses of shimmer . I found this while I was doing some image searching for a really special project I was selected to be a part of this year. I used this message to jumpstart a painting I did in partnership with @twistoutcancer. I was matched with Emily Whitehead (@ewhiteheadfdn) and I truly believe she IS made of sunshine. Emily is a 3 time leukemia surviver and was the first child in the world to receive CAR T-cell therapy. I’m so excited to share the piece I created and to celebrate with everyone involved tomorrow night at the exhibit and gala! (Stay tuned for that) For more details on this project see below or check out their Instagram: @twistoutcancer. And be sure the check out The Emily Whitehead Foundation at their website or fb!
”Brushes with Cancer strategically matches artists with those touched by cancer to create unique pieces of artwork reflective of their journey. Over a period of 4 months, fifty selected pairs will connect in person, via FaceTime, on the phone or by email. Their relationships are guided and supported by Twist Out Cancer volunteers with the intention of creating a support system for both the artist and subject. The program finishes on a high note with our signature celebratory art exhibition, gala and auction where the artwork is revealed for the first time.”
